Cyclist Killed John Cripps, aged 69, of Temuka, suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a motor-truck on Wednesday evening. Cripps was riding north along the main road, near Waihi College, Winchester, and the truck, driven by John Juriss, of Temuka, was travelling south. A passing motorist took Mr Cripps to the Timaru Public Hospital, but he was found to be dead on arrival.—(P.A.)
Syria Bans Food For Lebanon Syria has ordered the stoppage of all exports of foodstuffs to Lebanon.
