LATE NEWS DOCK STRIKE SPREADS TO LIVERPOOL

(Rec. 3.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 27. 'The Liverpool dockers, at a meeting, voted to join the London dock strike tomorrow.

The chairman said that if they took strike action they would have to elect their own strike leaders. Later, the Liverpool area secretary of the Transport and General Workers’ Union urged the Merseysidedockers to ignore the Liverpool decision and remain at works. Mr Arthur Deakin, secretary of the Transport and General Workers’ Union, referring to the mass meeting of London dockers, said there might be attempts to create confusion about the position, but there was no doubt the majority of the dockers wanted to go back. The union executive had, therefore, instructed the members of the union to return' to work immediately.
