Social Security Tax Now Over £26,000,000

Receipts from the social security charge of Is 6d in the pound for the year ended March 31 totalled £26,176,634, according to the annual report of the Commissioner of Taxes on the administration of the Act, presented to the House of Representatives. Of this total, £16,105,490 came from the charge on salary and wages, the balance being the charge on income other than salary and wages. A total of 662 exemptions was granted in whole or in part.
