Huntly Mines
To-morrow the various mines in the Huritly district will close for the Christmas and New Year holidays, and will reopen on Monday, January 6. The men have been requested by the Mining Controller, Mr. C. H. Benney, to curtail their holidays by three days, and to resume on January 6 instead of January 9, and for these three days they will be paid double time for working, and in addition they will receive their holiday pay. —Auckland, December 19.
