RESTRICTIONS ON PARCELS LIFTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 14. Restrictions on gift food parcels to Britain have been abolished, and the only limit now is the international parcel post weight limit oi 221 b gross. Parcels must still be bona fide unsolicited gifts, and marked as such, but there is not the 71b limit on the weight of food which may be incluqod in any one parcel, no 21b restriction on any particular foodstuff, and no limit on parcels to one a month for addressee. Postage rates for gift parcels to tne United Kingdom are: Up to 31b, 2/-; up to 71b, 3/4; up to Wb, 4/6; up to 221 b, 7/-. , „ Announcing the removal of the restrictions to-day, the PostmasteiGeneral (Mr. Webb) said he was pleased to give this news, because many New Zealanders had long been anxious to make a greater conti ibution to their friends and relatives in Britain. He added tnat the lestiictions on gift parcels to Continental countries to which a parcel Post service was available had been lifted similarly, except that the gioss weight of gift food parcels for the Continent must not exceed 111 -
