Armoured cars-.are patrolling the streets of Asmara-■ after rioting by Eritreans who favour the annexation of the country by. Ethiopia, says Reuter’s Asmara correspondent. A crowd attacked and damaged Arab-owned houses and shops- and called on Emperor Haile Selassie’s representative with a petition for transmission to the Paris conference, demanding annexation. Five leaders of the demonstration were arrested and 120 persons -were detained.
