Tank Landing Ships. A squadron of tank landing ships, made available to the Royal Australian Navy by the Royal Navy, is to leave Ceylon this week for the Australian coast. The craft will be used for the transport of supplies and personnel between Australia and the Islands, thus lightening the burden of the merchant shipping. Their arrival may ease the position of inter-State and trans-Tasman shipping by making it possible to release more ships. The squadron will leave Darwin on August 22, and arrive at Sydney on August 30.—Sydney, July 30.
