ROYAL FAMILY

VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA

ARRANGED

LONDON, July 30

• Arrangements for the Royal tour of South Africa and Rhodesia have been approved by the King. The tour will last 10 weeks and the Royal Family will leave Britain in the battleship Vanguard, arriving at Cape Town about February 17. The Royal engagements will include the opening of Parliament by the King at Cape Town, a stay at Government House, Pretoria, and visits to game reserves and native territories. The Royal party will then fly to Rhodesia. For the greater part of the tour the party will live in the Royal train, Princess Elizabeth will celebrate her twenty-first birthday on April 21 in Cape Town. The King and Queen and the Princesses will begin a holiday at Balmoral next week after a heavy round of public engagements. The King recently spent some of the busiest weeks of his reign and Princess Elizabeth accepted more public engagements than ever before.
