RUSSIA AND WORLD FOOD PROBLEMS

The Minister of Food, Mr. John Strachey, stated that the American and Canadian Governments in June had invited the Soviet Union to assist in the establishment of an international emergency food council. “I regret that the invitation was not accepted,”. Mr. Strachey added. He would not overlook the possibility of obtaining wheat supplies from the Soviet Union.
