AIR INQUIRY
SAFETY OF DE lIAVILLAND DRAGONS (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 30. The Department of Civil Aviation has opened an inquiry into the airworthiness of de Havilland Dragon! Rapide aircraft and will investigate' the recent crash and two forced landings by such machines. Twentyfive Dragons are registered in Australia. An official stated that the machines had a good safety record, but did not measure up to the exacting modern international performance standard.
