Attendance in Vicinity of 5000
The gross gate takings at Victoria Park, yesterday for the West Coast-England Rugby League match were approximately £531. As schoolchildren were admitted free, the estimated attendance was in the vicinity of 5000. Members of the English team left this morning for Wellington. They were given a farewell at the railway station by a large crowd, including the Mayor, Mr. F. A. Kitchingham, and the president of the West Coast Rugby League, Mr. B. F. Connors, and other officials.
