LAWN TENNIS Australian Davis Cup Team
MELBOURNE, July . 28. The Lawn Tennis Association of Australia has selected six players to form a Davis Cup practice squad. They are Bromwich, Quist, Pails, G. Brown, Sidwell, and Brodie. Otther names may be added to the list if the selectors think their form warrants inclusion. Jack Crawford has been appointed a Davis Cup selector to join four other selectors, Sir Norman Brookes, Messrs H. Walker, T. Robinson, and N. Strange. French Championships
(Rec. 11 a.m.) PARIS, July 28. The French tennis championship finals resulted: Men’s doubles: Petra and Bernard beat Segura and Morea, 7-5, 6-3, 0-6, 1-6, 10-8. Women’s doubles: Brough and Osborne beat Betz and Hart, 6-4, 0-6, 6-1.
