TRANSFER TO GERMAN TERRITORY BREACH OF AGREEMENT LONDON, July 27. “Two trains carrying Germans evacuated from Poland’s new territory were found to be filled with lunatics when they arrived at the frontier,” states the Berlin correspondent of Reuters. “British officials are protesting that the sending of 700 mad men infringes the agreement for the transfer of population. The agreement provides that no hospital cases, etc., are to be evacuated without notice. , ...
“The physical quality of all contingents of Germans coming from Poland is unsatisfactory. Formerly trains arrived' carrying scores of dead. In the period from June 1 to 15 only four corpses arrived, but of 27,000 men sent in that period only 17,000 were fit for work. Of 62,000 women only 42,000 were fit.”
