The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day: — Forecast; Showery. Situation: An anti-cyclone is north of New Zealand. A trough of low pressure is moving north-eastward over the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Moderate westerly to southwesterly winds, turning southeasterly during the night; weather cloudy with occasional showers to-day, but becoming fair to-morrow; temperatures rather cool. Further outlook: Fair. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.: Barometer, 1010; thermometer, 59; wind, westerly (moderate breeze); sky, cloudy; river, normal; bar, considerable swell; rainfall, 115 points. The total rainfall to date this year is 27.27 inches). The depth on the bar at high water this morning' was 20ft 4ins.
