Mail for Germany.
The resumption of the letter post service to Germany is announced by the Acting-Postmaster-General (Mr. Jones). Communications are restricted to non-illustrated postcards, and letters up to one ounce relating exclusively to personal and domestic matters. The envelopes, used for enclosing letters must be plain ones, without lining or design. Correspondence in any language is permitted, but all communications will be subject to censorship in Germany. The address used must include, in the order given, (1) the addressee’s name; (2) .town, (3) street house number, (4) province, (5) principal postal district number, (6) zone of occupation, (7) Germany. Details of province, principal postal district number, and zone of occupation are not necessary in the address of correspondence for Berlin itself. The Minister added that all correspondence must in the meantime be forwarded by surface means. Air mail registration and other special facilities were not yet available.—(P.A.)
