ITALIAN FOOD SUPPLY
(Recd. 1 p.m.) ROME, July 25. The Allied Military Government bluntly warned Italians they would only receive Allied aid in the coming Winter if they were prepared to co-operate to the fullest -extent by turning in grain instead of hoarding it. The Allied spokesman asserted that Italy’s crop outlook this year was the worst since 1913, as the result of war damage, lack of fertilisers, and drought; 24 to 30 million quintals of wheat would have to be imported to feed the people.
