HOKITIKA BOWLING CLUB

The following officers were elected al the annual meeting of the Hokitika Howling Club: —President, Mr. F. Ballinger; vice-president, Mr. R. Watson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. Conning; committee, Messrs Fraser, Gillespie and Neilson; ground committee, Messrs Ballinger, D. Stevenson, and C. King; match committee, Messrs Fraser, King and Stevenson, with Mr. R. Watson as superintendent. It was decided to admit women as players. BOXING NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 17. Phil Terranova, aged 23, won the world’s featherweight boxing championship, knocking out Jackie Callura, aged 26, in the eighth round. Each scaled 124 lbs.
