MINERS’ APPEALS DECIDED
CHRISTCHURCH, August 6. Among the reserved decisions given to-day by the Armed Forces Appeal Board were several on cases m which West Coast miners or their employers appealed against overseas service. A number of othei appeals were withdrawn, by leave ol . the board. Mr. F. F. Reid, S.M., presided, and associated with him were Messrs. A. H. McKane and G. M. Hall. Mi. W. F. Tracy represented the Crown. The following reserved decisions were given:— . • Brian Johnston, mine trucker, appeal by Grey Valley Collieixes, Ltd., on the public interest, and undue hardship.—Adjourned sine die on the public interest ground. Eric Fi-ancis James Streat, coal trucker, co-appellant the Brunnei Collieries, Ltd., the public interest and undue hardship.—Adjourned sine die on the eround of public interest.
