SLAUGHTER BY IRON GUARD. [BY CABLE. —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT ] (Recd. Dec. 7, 11.45 a.m.). LONDON, December 6. ■ The Iron Guards killed between 350 . and 500 people, half of them Jews, in lathe first Rumanian week of terror, kvhich began on November 27. L The “Daily Telegraph’s’ Budapest Correspondent says this, in an uncen,'sored message. “I have just left Rupiania, where I saw the actual slaughter. It is impossible to arrive at a .close estimate of the dead, as . most ■■witnesses of the assassinations are Neither afraid to tell what they have I seen, or are in hiding. I estimate that [between 100 and 200 intellectuals, politicians, aristocrats, and others tftave been killed. Hundreds of leading Rumanians are so afraid of assassinations that they are hiding in the woods.” . General Antonescu to-day. issued a decree, providing for a court-martial for Rumanians rebelling against the Army. This is believed to be designed to strengthen the army against the Jron Guard. . ■
