I KAURI TIMBER I Profit of Kauri Timber Company, | Ltd., and its subsidiary companies for the year ended August 31, amounted to £59,544, compared with £65,674 in the year before. Of this latest profit which is struck after providing £25,990 for depreciation (£22,434 last year), £41,729 is derived from trading and £17,825 from general investments, compared with £49,884 and £15,790 respectively. The parent company shows for the year a profit of £47,169, compared with £45,806 last year and £50,283 in 1937-38. Unchanged dividend of 6 per cent, requires £45,000, leaving £15,063 to be carried forward, against £12,894 brought in. Latest profit is made up of £30,001 from trading, £7242 from income from general investments, and £9926 income from investments in subsidiary companies. Consolidated balance-sheet shows sundry creditors £133,002 (£140,979 last year), reserves £222,225 (£212,427), profit and loss account £64,068 (£73,300), subsidiaries’ capital £125,228 (£147,097), fixed assets £535,724 (£518,473), stock £425,947 (£461,842), and debtors £188,546 (£208,050).
TIMARU WOOLLEN CO. WELLINGTON, December 3. The Stock Exchange Association has been advised that the Timaru Worsted and Woollen Co., Ltd., has declared a dividend of 6 per cent, for the year ended October 19, payable on December 18. NGAHERE The Ngahere return for November was 542 ounces for a yardage of 179,306, worked in 331 hours.
