BRUNNER NOTES

[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Captain Hodge and Lieutenant Hatch, of the Brunner Salvation Army Corps, have left for Christchurch, to assist with the self-denial appeal in that city. Mrs. G. Martin, Taylorville, has left for New Brighton, on holiday. Miss O. Richardson arrived from Hokitika yesterday, on a visit to her parents at Wallsend. Mr. McCarthy, Inspector of Mines, paid a visit to the Wallsend Mine yesterday. Mrs. Wallace and Mr. S. Morrison were the winners at the weekly euchre tournament held in Stillwater Hall.

A bring-and-buy evening was held in the Brunner Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, in aid of the Church funds. Competitions were held, and items were contributed. Supper was served.

Mr. and Mrs. Hart, Dobson, will leave to-morrow for a holiday in Christchurch.
