After consultation with the Prime Minister and with a full conference of Ministers, the Trades Union Congress has appointed a committee, to be an advisory committee to the Minister of Supply and to Air Ministry. The National Joint Advisory Council, whose function it is to advise the Government on matters in which employers and workers have a common interest, held its first meeting to-day. The Minister of Labour was in the chair, and there was a full attendance of representative members nominated by the British Employers’ Federation and the Trades Union Congress General Council. Amongst the subjects discussed were reserved occupations, and control of the Employment Act.
