REEFTON, November 1

The following debt cases' were heard at the Magistrate’s Court by Mr. G. G. Chisholm, S.M., and judgment. was given for plaintiffs by default: J. R. Discacaiti, trading as Chalk and Co. v. R. Reeve. £3, costs £l/5/6; L. E. Morgan v. P. R. Hall, £2/3/6, costs £l/7/6.

William George Chandler was fined 5/-, on a charge of assault on Hector I-I. Poulton.

A total of 5.14 inches of rain fell at Reefton on 13 days during October, and the maximum fall was 1.19 inches on October 25.

Steady rain set in to-day about 10 a.m., after a. fine mild day on Tuesday. The weather is unseasonable, and growth is hampered by the continued cold and rain.
