LOCAL BODY DIFFICULTIES. [FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN. April 18. The City Council's difficulty in raising money at the Governments prescribed rate was emphasised last evening by Cr i av-erner, wiia --‘*4 that the ratepayers iraa sanctioned Scans, but, untii the Government either sanctioned higher interest oi made money directly available, it was not possible to proceed with rhe proposed works. He added: In this city, there are some fairly-large aggregations of capital not fully employed, especially in the hands of trustees and societies, which would come our way if the rate of interest were only a little higher.
