(OUB OWN COBBESPONDBNI’.J Mr. W. Hazeldine, Brunner, left on Saturday for Palmerston North, on an extended holiday. Mrs. G. Smith returned on Saturday to Taylorville, from a holiday visit to Christchurch. Mr. P. Hogarth, of the Murchison Post Office staff, is spending his annual leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hogarth, Brunner. Mrs. R. Elwood arrived from Christchurch on Saturday, on a visit to relatives in Taylorville. The monthly meeting of the Taylorville School Committee was held at the school on April 13; present: Messrs. T. W. Morgan (chairman), P. Moore, F. Slater, R. R. Smith, and the headmaster (A. E. Mahon). The headmaster reported that the school roll is 95, and the average attendance 90. The report drew attention to the state of the school building, and the necessity for sundry repairs. The Taylorville Basketball Club applied for permission to use the school courts for practice purposes. The application was granted until the new Domain Board is gazetted, when the club was advised to apply for a playing area in the Domain.
