The incidence of T.B. among the Maoris, and particularly as affecting the Native schools, was briefly referred to by the Minister of Education. Hon. P. Fraser, in Hastings, last week. He intimated that he was gravely concerned with the position, and considered that immediate steps would have to be taken to remedy the position. Insofar as the schools were concerned, he contended that the question was of even more immediate importance than that of erecting new schools to replace present old buildings that could continue to function moderately for a little time yet.
