Rata sailed early this afternoon, for Nelson and Tarakohe. She is to return on Friday, to load coal for New Plymouth and Dargaville. Poolta arrived this afternoon with cargo from Lyttelton, and will load for Miramar.

James Cook arrived this afternoon, from Lyttelton, to load timber for Melbourne.

Alexander is to sail to-night, with timber for Port Waikato.

Totara is due to-night from Gisborne, and will load coal for Wellington. She is to return, on. February 13, to load coal for Gisborne.

Karu is due early to-morrow morning with cargo from Wellington, and will load timber for Petone and Wellington. She is to return, to again load timber.

Kakapo is to leave Wellington tomorrow for Greymouth, and is due on Thursday, to load coal f for return. Hokitika is expected to leave Wellington at noon to-morrow, with cargo for Greymouth and Hokitika, being due here early Friday morning. Omana w r as to leave Auckland yesterday with cargo for Greymouth, and is due on February 13, to load timber for Melbourne and Adelaide. Kaimiro is due on February 13, from Portland, to load for Auckland and Portland. Matthew Flinders is to leave the northern ports (Australia) this week, with hardwood for New Zealand, and is dqe at Greymouth about February 20, to load timber for Sydney. AT OTHER PORTS. WELLINGTON, Feb. 7. Sailed 10.2 p.m. February 6, Karu for Greymouth. SYDNEY, February 7. Arrived, Wanganella. from Auckland.
