In anticipation of the world congress on recreation and leisure which will meet in London next week- and will be attended by delegates from 20 countries, the National Witness Council, which was set. up in 1!I37. states that, schemes for increasing local facilities for games a’nd exercise costing nearly £7,000,(11)00. have been submitted during the. last year. Grants amounting to £ 1.31!i,157 have already been promised for swimming baths, community centres clubs, camps, playing lields. and gymnastic equipment. One county of chiefly agricultural character, shows that the number of people enrolling in classes for systematic physical education has multiplied more than 1o times in the last two yea rs. HITLER YOUTH LEADER BERLIN. Eebruary 3. Dr. Ley. leader of the Hitler Youth, is going to London, on February 5 by the invitation of the National Fitness Council. It is staled (hat he will be received by Mr Chamberlain.
