JUBILEE OF VANCOUVER.

RUGBY, August 8.

The Lord Mayor of London (Sir Percy Vincent), accompanied by Lady Vincent and a deputation from the Corporation of the City of London, left this morning on an official visit to Vancouver, British Columbia, to be present at the jubilee celebrations of that city. The party included the sheriffs (Lieutenant-Colonel J. D. Laurie and Colonel W. J. Waldron), the Lord Mayor’s mace bearer, the sword bearer (Major A. E. Wood), and the city marshal. They are taking with them and will present to the city of Vancouver a mace which is almost an exact copy of the City of London mace.

MIGRATION CONFERENCE.

RUGBY, August 8.

Members of organisations in the United Kingdom which sought to secure the resumption of Empire migration have received invitations to attend a conference at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, from September 23 to 25, to establish plans for restarting family settlement in that province.
