BYRD EXPEDITION

SLEDGING PARTY’S RETURN. [BY CABLE—PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LITTLE AMERICA. December 8. The Marie - Byrd Land .sledging party, who now have been fifty-five days away on field explorations, have radioed that they are starling on their return trip to the camp. Recently their radio communications have been brief, as their storage battery supply power has all but failed, but their laconic reports indicate that the scientists are pleased with their accomplishments. For the past fortnight or more, they have made no complaints as to their difficulties, but the aviators have reported that their progress must have been met witlx many obstacles.
