WAIUTA NOTES

[OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Messrs Savage, O’Brien and Webb, M’s P. were visitors to Waiuta on Monday afternoon. Mr. Savage addressed a well-attended meeting in the Miners’ Hall while Messrs O’Brien and Webb met in conference with union delegates.

Mr. J. Bright was a visitor to Reefton on Tuesday evening.

Messrs B. Watkins, J. C. Rodden, D. Tompson and H., Clarke will leave on Thursday morning for Christchurch.

The Waratah League Football Club sent a team to Waiuta on Sunday last when they met the Waiuta Rovers in a friendly match. The match was even throughout and some good form was shown. The game ended in a win for the visitors by 16 points to 12. Debney, Morel. Kerridge and Doherty scored tries for the losers while Scott, August, G. August and Morris scored for Waratahs. Scott converted one try and Morris converted another. Mr. S. P. Williams was referee.
