DANGEROUS SIGNAL.

Owing to the dangerous condition of the fog signal at Tiri Tiri, the Auckland Harbour Board has decided to notify the Marine Department immediately that, in the circumstances, it could not allow the signal men in its employ to continue operating it. The Marine Department will also be asked to instal modern sound signals of the diaphone type, similar to those installed at Pencarrow: Head, Godley Head, and Tairoa Head. The present machine was considered to be out of date, and, through defects, the lives of the men working it were placed in danger.
