REEFTON NOTES

[OUB OWN COREESPONDENT.J

REEFTON, April 18. In St. Stephen’s Hall on Monday evening, the Rev. A. W. Stuart, travelling representative of the British and Foreign Bible Society, delivered an interesting address on the work of the Society. There was a good attendance, and the speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

The racehorse, White Doe, injured a leg while being conveyed to Nelson in a motor float. The mare forced the leg through the floor board, and it was some time before the accident was noticed.

Mrs Clarke, of the Terrace, sus-

tained burns on the face, when opening a carbide container. An explosion of gas occurred, and Mrs Clarke was fortunate that her eyesight was not injured.

The congregation of Wesley Church extended a welcome to their new pastor, the Rev. P. Dorrian. at a social evening which was held in Wesley Sunday School. A musical programme was enjoyed, and supper was served. The night was a wet one, but despite this fact there was a good attendance, and the new minister was able to meet many of his congregation. .
