BULLER HOSPITAL
GRADING REDUCED. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WESTPORT, April 17. Notification was received at the meeting of the Buller Hospital Board, to-night, that the Buller Hospital has been reduced to the B Grade. Several members took strong exception to this degrading, mentioning that many highly-qualified nurses had been trained in the Buller Hospital. Under the new grading, trainees are required to finish off the last six months in an A Grade institution, at the B Grade hospital’s expense. Members considered that the higher grades would benefit by this cheap nursing from time. to time, and that it might do away with some of their usual staff. Mr. Henry Nahr, the Borough Council’s nominee, returned to the Board after an absence of four years, and claimed a bet of a new hat won from the Chairman. Mr. W. H. Mclntyre, concerning delay in the installation of a heating system, which the latter had evidently overlooked.
