COMMITTEE’S RECOMMENDATION
[BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.]
(Received April 17, 8 a.m.) RUGBY, April 14.
The report of the Slum Clearance Committe of the Royal Institute of British Architects expresses the unanimous view that all built-up areas should be zoned for industrial, commercial or residential purposes, and that a broad line of the general redevelopment plan of all built-up areas should be fixed "at the earliest
ossible moment. Powers to be given to the author!ies, to acquire areas for large re-
housing projects, and a national executive authority, with power to plan on a national scale and to ensure proper action by local authorities are suggested as desirable.
