MANNEQUIN AND MIDGETS

England’s tallest mannequin, Miss Joanne Saffelle, who is 6ft lin in height, 23 years of age, and the possessor of a 22in waist, is going to be married to a man as tall as herself (states the “Daily Mail’’). Her fiance is Mr. Geoffrey Young, whose family is in partnership in a travel agency, in which he also works. Miss Saffelle said recently that of the many previous offers of marriage she has received all but one were from very short men. “It has been a nightmare to me that such ‘niidgets’ should admire me,” she said. “When I was working in Paris for six months three years ago, I received several proposals a day, all from tiny men. One in particular, a rich Armenian, very short and fat, worried me to distraction. “The- only really tall man, apart from my fiance, who proposed to me' was a Caucasian prince, who was 6ft 2in in height.” Miss Saffelle intends to carry on her work after her marriage.
