Another well-known manufacturer has been telling (at Wellington) of the expanding demand for New Zea-land-made goods. Never, he declared, has that demand been greater than it is to-day. Good' enough, sir! At long last Maorilanders are beginning to realise that when our factories and workshops are kept going “full steam ahead,” things' must mend, and the spectre of unemployment vanish. Apropos of that is the greatly increased enquiry for New Zealandgrown and manufactured tobacco, now produced of such splendid quality that smokers innumerable prefer it to the imported. This beautiful tobacco for flavour, aroma, and comparative freedom from nicotine challenges comparison with anything from overseas. The four brands: Riverhead’ Gold, Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog), Cavendish, and Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshead), owe their pre-eminence to being toasted. This process (a costly and elaborate one) it is that eliminates the nicotine, and gives the tobacco its fine flavour and seductive bouquet. There is no other toasted tobacco. Imitations? Yes, of course! Isn’t every good thing imitated? It’s the penalty success invariably has to pay!—Advt.
