The “Daily, Herald’s” diplomatic correspondent states: A private message from Signor Mussolini to Herr Hitler informed the Nazi leader that Italy has decided to march troops to Austria if Herr Hitler makes any move to annex Austria. General Goering, as the result of this message, is making a post-haste flight to Rome to confer with the Duce. General Goering is also receiving a warning that German aggression is on the verge of embroiling Italy and Jugo-Slavia in war.

The “Daily Herald” adds: Signor Mussolini has already received from Doctor Dollfuss permission to send troops to Austria if the Nazis cross the Austrian frontier. An. Italian army corps has been moved nearer to the frontier. This has set the Little Entente in a ferment. The Jugo-Slavian Army, which numbers 180,000 men, will be mobilised if Italian forces cross the Austrian border. The “Daily Herald” says that Herr Hitler has now ordered the Legion of ex-Austrian Nazis who are under German leadership, to retire into Bavaria from the Austrian frontier. GENERAL GOERING’S VISIT. ROME, November 7. ‘Mussolini and Goering lengthily discussed the disarmament deadlock. A communique .states that Goering bore a letter from Hitler thanking Mussolini for his work ,in favour of an equitable settlement of international relations, explaining the German disarmament position, which Goering amplified in the course of a cordial conversation. It is understood that Mussolini exerted his influence in favour of a resumption of general disarmament conversations.
