HONEST SWAGSMAN

£315 FOUND ON ROAD. PERTH, October 22. A swagman entered the Post Office at Milling, about 150 miles north of Perth, and handed over an attache case containing £315 in notes, which he had found on the road 13 miles from Pithara. All he asked for was a receipt, after an inventory had been taken, and the cost of telegrams to the owner, Mr. M. J. Drew, of Mount Magnet, and to the Dalwallinu Police Station, where he thought that the loss would have been reported. He then continued his journey to the next town. Mr. and Mrs. Drew were motoring from Perth to Mt. Magnet, when they lost the case. Mr. Drew reported the loss to the Dalwallinu police. When he learned of the discovery he follow- • cd the swagman and found him in the ; early morning sleeping on a tarpaulin in a railway yard. Mr. Drew drove . him back to Miling, had breakfast . with him, and after recovering the money from the post office, rewarded ’ the finder for his honesty.
