SYDNEY WOOL SALES. [BY CABLE —PBESS ASSN. —OOPYBIGHT.] SYDNEY, October 26. At the wool sales, 11,959 bales were offered and 11,543 sold, also 2,194 were disposed of privately. There was spirited competition in all sectidns of the trade. The market was again five per cent, above the closing rates of last week for all except the finer descriptions, which were firm at the lately improved levels. A specially keen demand ruled for skirtings. Greasy Merino made 162 d. The average price of wool auctioned last week was £ll 2/- per bale, or 8.3 pence per pound.

Buyers are quoted at 9/9, and sellers 10/3.
