NORWICH CITY WRECK

ELEVEN MEN DR'OWNED. 1 (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 4. The Secretary of the General Post Office, Wellington, has received the following message from the Superintendent of the Apia Radio. The Trongate reports: — “Rescued three men. Remaining on the island there are 21. Eleven were drowned when the vessel struck, including six Arab firemen. There are very heavy seas. We are doing our utmost to rescue the remainder.” DIFFICULT RESCUE WORK. SUVA, December 5. The Norwich City is reported a total loss. Enormous seas are hampering the rescue work. A rocket line was sent ashore, also water and provisions. The captain, officers and engineer of the wrecked vessel are safe.
