(By Cable—Press Assn. —Copyright.)

LONDON, November 27. Oscar Slater (who was convicted of murdering Airs Grilclirist in the Kelvin Grove district of Glasgow, but last year,, was released and the conviction quashed) is to marry a negress. Slater told the “Daily Mail’s” Glasgow correspondent that lie is marrying a full-blooded negress in April. He said: “My fiancee was born in Basutoland., where. her parents are wealthy planters. ' I first' met her in Paris 20 years ago. She was then 20 years of age, and had just finished her education. We corresponded throughout my long years in Peterhead Gaol, where once she came to see me. Her faith in me was a tremendous comfort. We again met in Glasgow, when I was released, and we became engaged, and after the marriage I am going to my wife’s home to take up planting.”
