committees be notified re tne excursion on February 10; (2), that a letter of appreciation be sent to each teacher congratulating them on their fine work during the ybar as shown by the Inspector’s report; (3), that a letter be sent by the Chairman to the Education Board re Bonifacio’s property ; (4), that the rear fence be demolished and that the timber be stored and sold subject to the consent of the Board; (5), that a letter be sent to the Board asking, for co-operation to provide instruction in typwriting and shorthand at the, High School; (6), that representations be made to the Board on the matter of transport of pupils eligible

for the High School from Inangahua Valley, that a strong letter be'sent to the Board, also that a letter be sent to the Minister of Education on the mattero (7), that the Department be written to asking what steps are- being taken to provide ■ a science room, and that the Inspectors regard the equipment as totally inadequate. It was agreed that the Secretary interview the headmaster, and teachers re a function for* the opening of the new school ground. ' The result of the road race for Mr Morgan’s medal, held last evening, was G l . Reid 1, W. Lawson 2, D. Blair 3. Won by two lengths. At the finish Lawson led, and was followed by Reid, but the latter quickly overhauled the head inan and-won by half a length. The winner’s time was 41.38; fastest time W. Hudson 41.35.
