AMERICAN ’QUAKE
DAMAGE TO RAILWAYS. (Reuter.) VANCOUVER, June 28. A message from Billings (Montana) states that portions of the states ol Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Wash, ington, representing- the nation’s playground, were harassed by earthquakes i’or four hours on Saturday, night. No fatalities are reported, but the traffic m cue trans-continental railway was -impended by avalanches brought down by the ’quake, and the collapse of a tunnel.
Thousands of people rushed panic,stricken into the streets of the differmt cities at the first tremor. Half a dozen buildings were demolished.
