(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 24. Another case has occurred of an oil-tanker entering Wellington loaded so as to submerge the salt-water centre of the disc indicating the loadline. The offender was the Agwipond, from Port San Luis, and the master, Birger Van Der Hagen Suflermoon, was fined £5O for the breach of the regulations. Mr Prendeville of the Crown Law Office, remarked that this was the first offence of this defendant. It marked the fifth prosecution against oil-tankers. It seemed that the profit from the extra freight so obtained was at the bottom of the business, and the Department was forced to the conclusion that the penalty was looked upon as a license.
