The Alexander leaves V ellington to-morrow for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth, with general cargo. She is due here on Monday, and on discharge she loads coal tor Nelson. The Waimea is due here on Saturday to load coal for Nelson and Wanganui. The Karori, which is loading coal and timber for Timaru, Oamaru and Dunedin, will be unable, owing to the shortage of coal consequent on the epidemic, to sail for her destination until next week. The Kaituna is also delayed through the same cause. She will sail next week for Lyttelton with coal and timber. The Kaiapoi is loading a full cargo of timber for Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle, and will sail early next week. The Ngakuta left Lyttelton last night for Greymouth. On arrival she will load coal, timber and general cargo (if available) for the same port. The Ngahere leaves Wellington on Saturday for Greymouth, and on arrival loads coal and timber for Wellington and Miramar. The Baden Powell sailed for Wellington last night with timber. Sire returns on Monday and loads timber for the same port. • The Opua is loading timber for Lyttelton, and is expected to sail for that port to-morrow. The Orepuki is due on Saturday from Lyttelton to load timber for the same port. The Gabriella is due in about fourteen days’ time to load a full cargo of timber for Melbourne.

The Ilmmata, from Bluff, is due here in about a fortnight’s time to load timber lor Sydney. Mr. A. Hay has signed on the Kaituna’s articles as third mate. The manager of the Anchor Shipping Coy. (Mr. W. Roger), wrote to the Nelson Harbour Board, stating that, having experienced difficulty in the coaling of the Company’s steamers at Nelson, especially the Nikau and Ngaio, it had been decided, subject to coining to terms with the Harbour Board, to purchase a coal hulk.
