Lake Forsyth is higher than for many years and communication with Akaroa overland is almost cut off. The road near Little River is several feel under water, and snow is still very deep on tiie Akaroa road. The mails are being packed on draught horses. It will 'he some days before the wash-out on the Little River railway is repaired
