TOOL MAKERS. STRIKE AT COVENTRY. LONDON, July 23*Gix Lhousand tool makers commenc--' ed a strike at Coventry, though c'jj.tvoted yesterday, on the question of- immediate strike. Three thousand Jiaro ceased work at Leicester. THE LABOUR SPLIT. TROUBLE SPREADING. LONDON, July 23. The statement made by Mr. Appleton, Secretary-General of the Federation of Trades Unionists, following oil Mr. Hodge's action, indicates that.the split in the Labour Party is widening. Mr. Apple ton stated that the whole of the Labour movement was being handed over to men who really don't belong to it, and whose chief aim seemed to be to build up, after the war, a position for themselves in enemy countries.
