.. —.,#>». 5000 NAMES DRAWN. The July ballot was begun and completed at Wellington on Tuesday last by the Government Statistician and his staff, under the supervision of Mr S. E. McCarthy S.M. The drawing of the remaining 5000 names from Uass C, Second Division, was completed shortly before 4 p.m. The Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P.) watched the. proceedings, and at the conclusion congratulated the Government Statistician (Mr Malcolm Fraser) and his officers on their quick and efficient work. The names of the selected men are to be published in a "Gazette" on "Wednesday next. July 24th. The "Gazette" will contain also the names of men who have become available in the First Division, and Classes A and B of tho Second Division
