BOXING NOTES.
(By "Looker-on.) Harry AVills, the negro pugilist, defeated the veteran Sam Langford in seven rounds at Panama on May 291 h (it is reported from New York). Langford's second threw up the sponge to save him from further punishment. "Battling" Schroeder, of Pittsburgh, now in _service at an American base hospital in France, has asked the military authorities in France for the chance to meet Georges Carpentier, the French champion. Schroeder is said to be the best boxer in the American Expeditionary Force According to tlie "New York World", Tommy Bums has joined the Canadian Forces.
